CAOS (Community Arts; Open Space) is a pioneering Community Arts project based in Centre81. We launched our exciting intergenerational based £300,000 3 year Big Lottery project; 'Clyde Art' in September in Centre81 and the project itself kicked off soon after across Whitecrook. We will move some of our work into the Dalmuir area by then end of year 2.
We are currently providing a broad range of workshops in Centre 81 and in local primary schools. We provide youth drop-in dance sessions, youth visual arts sessions at Pulse, children’s music and drama workshops, after-school clubs, creative classes for adults who are looking to get back into work, various family workshops and a Boogie Babies creative movement class for under 5’s and their parent/guardian. We also work collaboratively with a lot of partner projects such as the Tullochan project.
CAOS are also very excited to announce the start of our new creative befriending project. We are very keen to involve more local volunteers in all aspects of CAOS. Volunteering is an enjoyable and effective way to potentially get back into work, learn new skills, develop confidence and meet new people. We need workshop volunteers and potential befrienders.
If you would like to contact the CAOS team, please phone us on 0141 952 2117 or you can email Hannah or Gill (hannah@causingcaos.org.uk or gill@causingcaos.org.uk) or please drop into our office upstairs in Centre81 anytime.
