Activity Scheme Launch

Clydebank Housing Association is putting funding to good use by providing fun activites for older residents in the area.

The Association was awarded £6,042 from the Big Lottery Fund and will use the money to run a 12-week social and recreational activity programme at Whitecrook's Centre81.  The programme will work to tackle feelings of loneliness and isolation for those involved.

MSP for the West of Scotland, Annabel Goldie, said: "The National Lottery brings help to all parts of the United Kingdom and I am delighted that Clydebank will benefit from the funding awarded to Clydebank Housing Association Ltd.

"I am sure the participants will benefit greatly from the lunch club, high tea, drawing and painting classes run by Centre81, made possible by the lottery money.

"I have put down a motion in the Scottish Parliament to congratulate the award winners like Clydebank Housing Association Ltd throughout the West of Scotland and to commend the positive contribution that such organisations make to their local communities".
